Kaya (Hangul: 카야) is Tzuyu's female dog. She was first introduced alongside Butter during Tzuyu's [now defunct] VLIVE on November 3rd, 2020.

Trivia

• Kaya's current name originated from Kaya toast, which has butter and kaya jam spread. Tzuyu wanted to name her dogs that goes as a set or pair since Kaya and Butter are both "mother and child". Nayeon suggested to her giving names to something that she likes (e.g. food). Hence, Tzuyu decided to name the duo after her favorite bread. The dish was also mentioned from one of the episodes of TWICE TV6 during their time in Singapore as they were visiting a supermarket. Kaya's former name given by the animal shelter is Emily (Hangul: 에밀리).
• Tzuyu unofficially adopted Kaya, together with Butter around late September 2020. At that time, the adoption process hasn't been finalized. Around December 2020, she confirmed that both dogs are officially adopted.
• Kaya lives in Tzuyu's apartment alongside Butter.
• Kaya has 6 litter puppies including Butter, both were about to be euthanized by another animal shelter due to lack of funds & space and it was rescued on time. Kaya's 5 other litters eventually got adopted to their forever homes, while she and Butter remained in the animal shelter until Tzuyu visited personally.
• Back in the animal shelter, Kaya once nursed a kitten that was in critical condition as if it was her own. Despite her efforts, the kitten soon passed away.
• Tzuyu sometimes brings Kaya and Butter to a dance practice or work schedule.
