The Melody Project is a side-project by TWICE members to showcase their solo abilities. The project was released in late 2016, with three videos by Mina, Sana, and Chaeyoung. The goal was to have each member have their own music video, but it ended up being put on hold by the beginning of 2017 due to TWICE's busy schedule. Over the years many rumors have surfaced of other members releasing Melody Project music videos, all of which were to be proven false. In May 2020, Jihyo's Melody Project in which she covered Jang Hye-jin' "A Late Night of 1994" was released. Nayeon's melody project was released in December 2020 where she covered Ariana Grande's "Love is Everything". Dahyun and Chaeyoung became the first TWICE members to do a Melody Project together in February 2021, and Tzuyu's first was released on June 28, 2021.

Sana was the second TWICE member to have her first melody project, although many ONCEs thought her melody project was not considered a melody project, as she did not actually sing in the video. Even though Sana dressed up as Harley Quinn in the video, she revealed that she didn't actually know who Harley Quinn was. In the video Sana "performed" TWICE's "Like Ooh-Ahh". |

Chaeyoung - "Alone"
Chaeyoung was the third member to take part in the Melody Project. She specially chose to do her own cover of 'Alone' by Dalchong (CHEEZE). Her melody project had received many recognitions by many viewers across YouTube that it surpassed more than 7 million views. |

Jihyo took a twist to her Melody Project in 2017 that she decided to perform live at a small venue (~100 people) with a live band. It was initially Nayeon's idea as they may not be able to film a music video due to their busy schedule. [1] The live sessions was streamed on VLive and Jihyo performed songs including TT (Jazz Version), Unbreakable Smile by Tori Kelly, Butterfly by Rhythmking (feat. UG & Sarah Lee), All about that bass by Meghan Trainor, Angora (앙고라) by Moonmoon (문문) and One late night in 1994 by Jang Hye Jin.

Nayeon - "Love Is Everything"
Nayeon released her Melody Project covering "Love Is Everything" by Ariana Grande as a present to all ONCEs on the day before Christmas day. Nayeon filmed her Melody Project at a skiing resort as she expressed she wanted to film with snow. In the video, she filmed with her dog Kookeu. Dahyun & Chaeyoung - "Switch To Me"
Dahyun and Chaeyoung covered the rendition of ‘Switch To Me’ by Park Jin Young and Rain which was released at the end of last year and marked the two musicians’ first collaboration in over a decade. The duo did a parody of a scene from the original ‘Switch To Me’ music video which featured both Rain and Park Jin Young comparing their achievements. Tzuyu did a rendition of ‘ME!’ by Taylor Swift which was released on June 28, 2021. The male vocals were provided by Stray Kids' Bang Chan. Bang Chan reacted to the music video at his VLive on June 28, he said Tzuyu personally asked him to collaborate for her melody project, and he wanted to thank her for giving him this opportunity as he always wanted to participate in a collaboration with another artist. Chan also complimented her in the VLive for how much her talents have grown and how she in-person has grown mature and cool.[2] |
